The boat is sitting in her slip for a change, not out playing with the wind. Everything is cleaned and stowed so winter must be over. The Jeep is sitting with the top off in the parking lot….must be time to enjoy the summer. It’s going to rain this week but I don’t care, it is off sailing again.

What a shame, as I had missed you so in the winter. With the warm sun comes my longing to drift, to float lazily and slip in and out of familiar places where I have smiled before. An escape is planned, far from the norm, and although I softly call out with the clink of the rigging on the mast and wait for a response, I hear nothing but the echo of my efforts fading toward land. Nature is funny that way, and with karma as her guide, the wind is fair and follows the seas that lead her…
